Some Torekov-people living in New York most of the time invited us for christmas coffe at their place. Julia, another friend from Torekov was also there. We baked Swedish pepparkakor, drank Swedish glögg, black coffe, ate American delivery pizza twice, overlooked central park and discussed photography. Some traditional but still americanised christmas disorder turned out to be one of the highlights of our christmas in New york. We had so much fun, thank you for the christmas spirit!

We have had an awesome time in this city. It’s the first time we visit the states and we have constantly been in chock of how real everything is. The skysrapers, the statue of libety, brooklyn, the brewery, the sreets and avanues, central park, the christmas feeling, the crazy people in the subway, the smoke coming out of the street and the new yorkers accent. Everything which we have been fed with from all the american movies are for real and ten times more than that. It’s greater than any other city we have been and we´ve been to a lot of them. If you hav’nt been you just gotta go! Please ask us if there is anything specific you want to know about our visit here.
Until further stuff is coming up here we would like to whish all of you a happy new year! We are currently at our boardsponsor Bing in Encinitas, California. We have been surfing all days long and hanging out at the factory. We are going to celebrate tonight at John Wegners house and the last few days has been all about the guys at Bing discussing which beer to get. But it’s understandable cuz they just don’t buy a case or two but a whole cag (fat) of beer!! + red party cups. Did you read it, RED PARTY CUPS.
We are excited.
Cheers everyone and a Happy New Year!

I have been serving a beer called Brooklyn Lager on our parents restaurant G.Swensons for a few years now. I say to our customers, do you wanna try a real american beer? and they´ll answer, american beer, no thank you.. But i have persuaded them and they have come back. The last summer the demand for the beer has increased alot.
When we decided to go to New York the brewery was one of the first things that popped up on the to do-list. We got in contact with amazing Claire Moyle at the brewery, and she invited us to come and check the brewery out.
She told us everything from how you really brew beer to how the Brooklyn Brewery logo was developed by one of New York’s most famous graphic designers. Brooklyn Brewery was here long before Brooklyn got hip and trendy. As an upcoming company with a small budget they still managed to get one of the most known grapich designers, Milton Glaser, the man who came up with the I-heart-NY logo who designed the logo which today is seen on thousands of bottles all over the world.
They also work a lot with collaborative project making specific types of beer for restaurants they think is iconic for New York, like the Shackmeister for Shake Shack and the Katz Ale for Katz. Apart from these ones and the Brooklyn lager which we sell in sweden they make a lot of other beers and many interesting like their big bottles “Local 1″ and “Local 2″ bottled fermented just like how you make champagne. They have opened their brewey to the public and are great at showing what they do. On Fridays you can come to their big tasting room for Happy Hours, on Saturdays and Sundays you can join for tours and tastings. Make sure to make a visit if your in NYC!

Wonder if these last two guys are the strongest of all, standing against all pressure or just leftovers not really knowing what they were doing.

We checked out Saturdays surf in NYC. The only surf shop in the city we know about since Mollusk has closed down. Surfing and NYC is not really synonym to each other but it´s a city of all kind of people and surfers gather at Saturdays in SoHo. They have some really nice surf fashion, surf books, wetsuits and most of all boards. And not just any boards but boards from our favorite californian shaper Bing, they have shapes in stock suitable for the NYC waves which is pretty much the perfect boards for Sweden as well. Check it out if you´re in SoHo, Manhattan!

To wave down a yellow cab can seem like an easy thing but sometimes they just down show up, and that´s usually when you really need them. Or, they´ll show up but with the out of service sign lit.. Waving down a yellow cab at wall street with a Fjällräven Kajka on your back is easy peace though! We tried to get some product shots of our backpacks and i think we stoped 20 cabs before we where done, haha! If you have a hard time getting a cab you should definitely consider getting this bag!
