When we got back to El Tunco, after a very expensive taxi trip since no chicken bus was running, we met up with Nick and had some fish tacos/burritos at our favorite place and then the transport Nick had booked arrived; a mini bus with a very sleepy driver.. I was afraid he was gonna fall a sleep and didn’t stop look at him, Petter on the other hand folded back his chair and fell a sleep. Drove though half of El Salvador to the little place El Cuco outside of San Miguel, the place did not disappoint us.

This was a tricky wave, if you where lucky enough to avoid hitiing a rock in the fall, you still had a supper strong current taking you strait towards a cliff wall with giant waves smashing against it.  Not our cup of tea.

Going to Mizata from El Tunco was suppose to be an easy thing. 30 minutes on a chicken bus and buses were gonna leave every hour according to the mighty Lonely Planet book. Well, so wasn’t the case. We waited and waited.. And then the right bus passed us. The locals said, oh sorry now you have to wait to tomorrow.. And then the right bus suddenly came! Filled with school kids who help us pack all our stuffs in. Had to change bus in a small town before we got to Mizata and by then it was getting dark. Happy we made it, though it took almost three hours!

Old friends, swedish reagge, rom & coke and chilling in the pool. That’s what we’ve been doing today, after the surf of course.

And I can’t really explain how happy we are to have a pool 10 ft from our room, it’s the hottest month in central america right now,

and it’s HOT.

The other day we measuered it to almost 40 degrees… Linn’s family is from northern Sweden, where it’s dark almost the whole day and barely now sunshine, she’s not made for this weather even though she loves it. Solution = get in a pool. She has spent the whole day in the pool. Haha the whole day. If you want her to smile, say swimming pool.

When we came to El Tunco it was saturday and party everywhere, on the beach and the streets. We left cameras, wallets and everything else with value, just brought some beer and went out. Not so many tourist actually, more locals from San Salvador and man, the locals could dance! Felt like being in a Jennifer Lopez music video, really cool experience.

Our collaboration with Wavecation started right here, at Tortuga Lodge in Sunzal/El Tunco. This place had a great location right in front of a peeling lefthander that just never went flat.  If you looked a little bit more to your left you saw the loong left hand point of Sunzal. We had a greaat time here and even though the swell was a little disappointing there where always waves.
