Berlin, Travels

Spreepark

Spreepark. Or Kulturpark Plänterwald as it was called before the Berlin wall fell and it got abandoned. It used to be the biggest amusement park in east Berlin and now it’s one of many abandoned sites in the city. We went there in the dark. Climbed the fence. Everyone was up for it. 15 of us + Martin. We got in, saw the swans, walked around, a dog started barking and someone turned on a light further in the dark. Panic erupted. We ran through the dark. We escaped. We were scared. Half of the crew left and half of us went back in. Those of us who kept going had the joy to ride both the ferris wheel, the rollercoaster, some cars, walk over the viking boats and more. It was pretty cool. It was wierd to see a place normally full of people and joy totally deserted. It made it even more exciting. It was as if we could hear all the sounds and laughters that once were there.
