We have raved about it before… There’s something really special with taking the train in Sri Lanka. The most famous rides, over Nine Arch Bridge and the winding tea plantations, is up in the Hill Country. Tosca our old social host did the classic train ride between Ella and Hatton and shared it with us in this blog.
But, you don’t have to go that far to enjoy a Sri Lankan train ride. A Wednesday just a few weeks ago we all decided to jump on the train from Ahangama Train Station to Galle. Wednesday’s are our day’s off the surf and yoga schedule here at our retreat. There are only a few trains a day that stops in our little village but the 10:05 am train fits us perfect. It gives you time for an early morning surf before…
When at Galle station make sure you jump off the train quickly, before the travellers from the platform jump on the train. There’s no polite waiting for the passengers to get off first here…
You can find our guide to Galle here. We might to an updated one soon if there’s interest?
In the meantime, book your surf & yoga getaway with us now! See our availability in our booking calendar here (link).
