I am ending this year with realizing that in 23 days me and Petter will be traveling to India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Malaysia (incl. Borneo) and Bangkok. I’ve got a feeling it’s gonna be epic! Happy New Year all friends out there, I wish you all a greaat 2011!

När jag kom hem efter 12 timmars bussresa så väntade Petter med tända ljus, champange och krabba. Finaste välkomnandet! Och så fick jag en 2000 gigabyte stor hårddisk fylld med alla bilder från dem två åren vi varit tillsammans.. Wihie! Känns skönt att vara hemma!

another sick contrast in laos was the menu. they served baguettes everywhere, in every streetcorner, all the small food wagons, in the bars, everywhere! and really good ones, with chicken, tuna, ham or cheese, mayo, cabbage, tomatoes and sometimes they even served them warm! everywhere else in asia, you get dry frenchtoast when you ask for bread.. so we where totally in chock when we came to laos, damn we were munching on those baguettes! and with a good cup of lao coffee it got you  straight to heaven. thank you france for colonizing!

One day we decided to go visit some temples. We met some amazing young men who had come from northern Laos to get an education. The only way for most people to get that, is to leave your family and become a novice (the step before becoming a monk) in one of Luang Prabangs 33 temples.

The time flew while we were comparing our lives to each others and after some time of laugh the novices asked us if we wanted to join on an adventure.

Yes please, we answered. And our new friends took us down to the river bank, rented a boat to go to the other side of the Mekong river. They showed us beautiful and plundered temples that we would never had found without them. They fetched a key to a cave that had been used as a holy temple during some old war. It was amazing and all we ever dreamt of.. When we were wandering back Vee, one of the novices, told Petter that his dream was to get an European girlfriend when he became older..
