We’re so happy we got to experience the beautiful wedding of Patu and Tara. We got invited months ago, back up in Arugam Bay. Me, Petter, Cailin, Patu, Thili, Sithum and Pathum hang out almost everyday. We packed us all up in the jeep and went for surf adventures. Patu is as good as any professional game ranger on spotting wild animals while sitting in the car. Coming back we drank Tile’s dangerous good cocktails and ate Sithums awesome food at the Seahorse Inn where we stayed for 1,5 months. It felt like a little family.
You’re all invited to mine and Tara’s wedding in February, back on the south coast, Patu said. I remember I thought it felt like ages till it was time. But suddenly i stod there in a sari. Petter asked our local friend what to wear and he said a sarong and shirt. So Petter and his dad dressed up in sarongs, so did all the male relatives of the swiss bride Tara. The funny thing is that all of the Sri Lankan men at the wedding were dressed up in suits..
The wedding took place on a beautiful beach. Just as the sun set behind Tara and Patu they said I do and kissed each other. The ceremony followed by a huge rice and curry buffet, drinks, music and fire dancers. It was a beautiful wedding. The bride and bridegroom now lives in Switzerland, and we really miss them on the island. Thank you for the amazing wedding party!
