Can you imagine the stoke we feel about this? It’s a decision that’s been with us for a while. At first we only spoke about it between us, with a low voice and a crooked smile. I’m not sure really when the actual decision came, but when Petter and I decide something, we do it. We started throwing the idea to our closest family and friends, let them taste the it. The beautiful thing is that they said: go for it, we believe in you. You’re young and got nothing to loose. That means so much, thank you. You know who you are.
To us it’s a dream to live where we’re able to surf everyday. Our ideal life is half a year in Sweden, the summer months, and then half a year somewhere warm, like Sri Lanka. One thing all the amazing people we’ve met asking for life advice said is: Follow your dream. It does sound a bit cheesy but it’s something which is very hard to do. After taking the decision I’ve felt some separation anxiety against leaving our life here in Malmö where it’s close to our family and friends. We’ve had the perfect apartment and a really good life here. But it’s not our dream. It was for a while, after all our trips I’d been dying for an own home.
We could keep on living in Malmö forever, it’s a comfortable life. After university we could get a job, do a career, try to get kids, buy a house. Save money and go for a surf trip every christmas. Nothing wrong with that, that’s many peoples dream. But not ours. If we stayed and did all of those things it would end up with a divorce 10 years later because we realized it’s not what we wanted.
We’re fortunate to know what we want, and we both want the same thing right now. We want that life we’ve spent five years in awe of; the life of someone who’s doing what they love. I’m so glad we did all of those travels and when finding inspiring people instead of turning away our head because they’re-so-cool-we-can’t-handle-it we asked: how do you do it?

Will we drop off university? No, we have one year left and will bring our studies to Sri Lanka. Both me and Petter will be having half a year of distance courses and then half a year of our writing our final exam. Fingers crossed we’ll have that self discipline..
We got until end of June to pack up ur life here in Malmö, before moving to Torekov for the summer to work. There will be a yard sale, the rest will be put in a storage. We’re both to sentimental to get rid of my mum’s old table or Petter’s granddads desk. Then in September we’ll do the big move, or big.. I think we’re just bringing our surfboards.
This blog and you will of course follow us on this journey, as so many of you have since our first trip as teenagers. Thank you for encourage us to follow our dreams! We hope to inspire you to do the same, whatever your dream is.

Nämen vad märkligt. Ramlade just in på denna sida av en slump genom bloglovin – och jag tror jag pratade med din kille när han jobbade i en klädaffär i Växjö för typ två veckor sen, då min kille handlade en tisha. Han sa att han jobbade allt han kunde för att spara pengar så ni skulle kunna dra till Sri Lanka, och jag kom då att tänka på en radiodokumentär om organiska farmer man kunde få bo och äta gratis på i utbyte mot jobb, något som verkade finnas lite här och där i hela världen. Sedan efteråt kom jag på att jag nog sagt fel till honom. Wwoof stavas det!! (jag glömde det första w:et) 🙂
