Singapore Chinatown

While in Singapore we got to experience the Chinese New Year. Park Royal on Pickering was situated on the border between the financial district and Chinatown so we could just walk straight in to China town. The Chinese New Year is not celebrated on a single evening, but as a fifteen day festival. This New Year was the Goats New Year, so they had put goat statues all over the city. They had lit the streets in China town beautifully with colorful rice lamps and we had a walk on the night market, did some 5 for 10SGD shopping and grabbed some food at a Hawker center. Even tough Singapore is recognized as the most expensive city to live in, in the world, you can still eat on the cheap at the Hawker centers scoring great meals at 3-5SGD. And the shopping at the night market was also crazy cheap, but, made in china!
