Last week the massive storm reached Sweden as well. Winds reached 42 meters per second at Hallands Väderö. Thats about 80 knots. Perfect for Swedish surf! A dawn patrol adventure a while ago. There’s not much that beat a couple of days of good swedish waves shared with friends. When it comes to the dawn patrol, surfers are soldiers…soldiers of fortune. If they are fortunate enough, the morning mission will yield big results.
Ericeira town. Small and super picturescue full of cafés, restaurants, little shops and people. People everywhere. Ericeira had just the southern european vibe I miss in Sweden, were people go out and enjoy, meet and socialize in town every day. For example, 9/10 locals eat their breakfast out, every day. Sorry for letting you hang there. For a month.. Anyway, I and the boys went on a little eat-sleep?-surf mission to Portugal. There wasn’t a swell or nothing really. But we surfed 2-3 times a day for the whole week. It was like a training camp / fear and lothing in Portugal trip / surfsurfsurf
There’s something special with summer surf here in Sweden. It’s the weird feeling of not freezing your ass off when taking off your wetsuit. Happens very rarely. We had a great week! Really worth taking a cheap flight here, stay in Las Palmas and not in the tourist complex down south. Or do that, if that’s what you want.. Bring your surfboard when it’s season, rent a car and go look for hidden waves. Take the ferry to Fuerteventura. Drink wine, eat
